Saturday saw our District Ready Steady Cook finals. Cubs, Scouts, and Explorers turned up the heat and prepared a variety of fabulous dishes which wowed the judges. In all the competitions, teams had to independently prepare a two course meal with only two gas rings and no electrical appliances.
The Cubs and Explorers were tasked with creating a curry within the hour and a half time limit, with teams serving dishes from a range of countries including Japan and South Africa.
The Scouts competition didn’t have a set theme, leaving teams with the challenge of deciding their own menu from scratch. This gave rise to many different menus from sustainably sourced meat to Moroccan cuisine.
Well done to everyone who took part and thank you to the judges, section leaders, and supporting adults who helped the day run so smoothly.
